GOING ALL OUT ON GPU WITH INTEL ARC A770

When we talk about Graphics Processing Units (GPU), most of the time the company that comes into our mind is either NVIDIA or AMD, well, today I am going to talk about another company that is entering the territory of these two titans (NVIDIA and AMD), this company is not new when it comes to technology, they’re also known for developing microprocessors found in most of the world’s personal computers. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you Intel.

Intel Arc Logo

Yes, Intel is a widely known company around the globe with its processors in the market. But we are not here today to talk about their processors. Instead, they are gearing up and joining the battle of Graphics Processing Units (GPU). Recently, Intel released their new Graphic Processing Unit in the market named Intel Arc A750 and A770.

Intel Arc A770 Model

Intel’s new Graphics Processing Unit Arc A770 is the newest entrant in the graphics universe Intel Arc A-Series. It has built-in machine learning, graphics acceleration, and ray tracing hardware, Intel Arc graphics contains the world’s most advanced technologies’ uniting fluid gaming, the latest in visual technologies, and rich content creation across mobile and desktop form factors.

So, what are the specifications of Intel’s new Graphics Processing Unit (GPU)? Intel’s Arc A770 GPU has 32 cores, ray tracing units of 32, a graphics clock of 2100Mhz, a memory size of 16 GB with memory type of GDDR6, a graphics memory bandwidth of 560GB/s, a graphics memory interface of 256 bit, a memory speed of 17.5 Gbps, and supports DirectX 12 Ultimate.

So, what is the price of the Intel Arc A770? I know you would think that it’s gonna be in the price range of NVIDIA’s RTX 4090 and AMD’s RX 7900XT. Well, it’s not! Intel’s Arc A770 is much cheaper compared to the two GPU titans in the market. To be fair to NVIDIA and AMD, we can compare the Intel Arc A770 to NVIDIA’s RTX 3060 which is 399USD in the current market, while the Intel Arc A770 is 349USD which is still cheaper than RTX 3060.

Although it also has its flaws, like some bugs in the driver and not enough software controls, it also has some solid performance that is able to run some games in 1440p, great design and materials used, and significant performance.

With the design, Intel Arc A750 and A770 are almost identical, with just a little difference in LED strips on the 349USD limited edition Intel Arc A770. Intel also uses axial fans and copper vapor on the Arc GPUs to keep them cool.

Intel entering the Graphics Processing Unit world is noteworthy for the market since GPUs price is skyrocketing ever since Cryptocurrency mining became popular across the globe. Not only it offers a much cheaper GPU, but it also has a competitive performance as well. Although the two titans (NVIDIA and AMD) are on a different levels since GPU is one of their main markets, I can see Intel GPU in coming years as competitive as the other two. It’s still a great balance in the future that we can have different choices other than the two GPU titans in the market.
